Community at Austin Baby, more than just a store

Austin Baby is more than diapers and slings (and all of the other fun stuff we love to show off)! We are here for the community and love fostering the relationships that grow in our cozy little space. In the spirit of community, we will be offering classes, forums, chats and a place where support groups can call home. Where else can a parent learn about budgeting for a family with twins while the twins cook wooden spaghetti?

Please note that though some of the classes are instructional, the community events are meant to be a time of sharing with your Austin neighbors. In the spirit of flourishing our community, we love to see parents and grandparents sharing their wisdoms - the "what worked and didn't work" ideas of parenthood. We would like to reiterate that the words shared are meant for contemplation and consideration and are not direct advice nor professional opinions of Austin Baby. We celebrate how unique each individual and each family is, so not all situations and ideas apply to everybody. Thank you for being purposeful, thoughtful, and responsible parents. Cloth diaper 101
10:30 on each Saturday of every month: April 12, 19, 26, May: 3, 10, 17, 24, 31st.

April 18th: Erin and Angela of Austin will be honored at the BigIdea day for Big Austin. We are one of the top three finalist in a business plan competition. We will be in front of a panel, and asked several questions about Austin Baby and the audience will vote on the winner. Wish us Luck!

April 24th: 12:00 pm- Talitha Muniz-Wallick, M.Ed, Owner and Director of Helping Hands Montessori Services presents "Montessori at Home: Creating a Harmonious Environment in Your Home." This workshop is designed for families who would like to incorporate Montessori into their home to promote self-esteem, independence and self-reliance in their young children. Come ready to learn some basic tips for creating this needed space in your home. Talitha is available for in-home design and parent advising. Austin Baby Wearers
Second Wednesday of each month at 9:30 am
Each month a guest speaker will cover a topic of babywearing. Afterwards, attendees may try on carriers, receive support on his/her own carrier, and check out a carrier from the sling library.
